Starting Today

Hello all. Today, I decided to get started on the fangame I'd been planning on making for a while. Currently, the game is called Metroid Eclipse. It will be set after Metroid Fusion, as a continuation of the story. The part of the plot I have worked out now, is that Samus will be contacted by the Galactic Federation, to say that they need her services again. Apparently, one of the SA-X escaped the destruction of the BSL Station. It has settled on the world of (insert name here) and is know wreaking havoc. It has already taken out the GF base there, and Samus is need to go there and stop it. That is what I've currently figured out, but more will come. I'm just waiting for the needed software to arrive.

  1. Sounds shallow, and it also sounds like the GFed simply forgave Samus for destroying the BSL station. And how WOULD this SA-X escape the freakin' huge explosion?

This just goes to show one thing: IF a after-Fusion game has to be made, it has to be a NEW adventure. It can hold cameos/references to past games, but it shouldn't depend on them for story content... at least, not overly so.

Every good fangame should have a bit of originality and uniqueness. What's so GOOD or UNIQUE about your game that would entice others to play it? Focus your fangame-developing with that question in mind. "Will this make my game popular and PLAYABLE, or will players drop it and never play it again after one session?"
